The (not-so-scary) Books of Monsters

By: Ian James Dye

This is a great little bedtime read about some (not-so-scary) monsters. The concept is very simple and perfect if you’re looking for something with interesting pictures or a quick little lighthearted book. It features different monsters and has a small introduction about them explaining to the reader what they do and what kind of monster they are. I like the concept and the illustrations are wonderful. For the teachers out there this is a great opener for art class. We read the book first, talked about what kinds of other (not-so-scary) Monsters there could be. After that, they each created their own monster and the whole lesson really flowed nicely
