7 Children's books for cat lovers

August 2, 2019

Every illustration in this book stands alone as an impressive work of art. I really love how this book demonstrates that everything that looks at you sees you slightly differently... and so each illustration is quite unique and I would say this book really stands out to me as a teacher in a lot of ways. I found that it was one of those books that I appreciated more and more, the more times I read it.

This is a hilarious book! Based on the actual shenanigans of the real life Prank the cat. It follows Prank throughout the average day and night of this mischievous little cutie. Also I really love the “Prank bloopers” illustrations at the end of the book, what a smart idea!

This is a classic book first published in 1949 and It's still selling like hot cakes! I love introducing my students to classic books that I read when I was young. This is a simple book about two kittens that are trying to mix paints to create green. They end up making all kinds of great colors in the process.

This is a great series with a whole bunch of Splat books. This book is about a young Splat that is feeling nervous about his first day of school. He tries everything to get out of going but in the end has to go. So Splat decides to bring his pet mouse along so he'll have a friend to keep him company on this scary day. However bringing a mouse to school with a bunch of cats is not really the best idea.

This is another great series. I use these books a lot in my classes with my early readers. The stories are basic and the language is simple and really perfect for kids learning to read. This book is about Pete and his friends baking cupcakes for a party. Some of the cupcakes go missing though and they have to solve the mystery.
