Slow Moe
By: Deborah Kerbel
Here’s a wonderful book about the love and understanding that siblings share. About a young girl who perceives her little brother Moe as a snail, due to his frequent sluggishness in daily activities like eating breakfast and walking to school. This tests her patience, leading to frustration. However, she notices that when adults aren’t around, Moe transforms into an energetic child! He runs around and energetically plays games like tag and basketball. This behavioral contrast makes her question whether Moe’s slowness is genuine or on purpose. Ultimately, she chooses to keep his secret, embracing her love for him despite his quirks. I love the illustrations in this book! They perfectly complement the text, which is quite humorous. This is a story that just about everyone can relate to, we’ve all been or seen a “Slow Moe” at some point in our life. I love books that express unconditional love and this one does just that. Great illustrations. excellent writing… 100% Recommend adding it to your list!
